I am not a fan of focals, I love the midbass, but the tweets are a little harsh for me in the few sets I have heard.

You could look into some Hypnotiq Zens. I have no idea how much they run for, but with my Vertigo comps, they have great kick from the mids, and I got them for a steal. Just a thought.

I like the High Energy line at their price point, but for those after a bit smoother sound.

No doubt about it-for that price...CMX Kicks take the cake in midbass output, dynamics and top end extension.

For detail and precision, i feel its a better set.

The CDT Eurosport ES610's are a great SQ comp, they also have the smoothest and most detailed silk tweeters i have ever heard.
