Help me pick out some 6.5's......

ok, ok...I really wanna do this same type of setup.

It will be going in the same car (is300) but i don't wanna steal this guys whole idea, just the box/mounting. My question is what 6.5" subs can i squeeze in a 1 cubic foot box? I was thinking digital designs 6.5's but then again, I'm not sure. So help me out. I want some serious low end without losing my floor space.

I would personally go with at least 8" for subs..but thats just my opinion

8's aren't out of the possibility, just will be running 2 instead of 4. Then i would run the 1500's.

Mpyre Audio if they are still in business - Xbl^2, 19mm Xmax, can't remember the power handling but it was more than enough.

those tang bands look like they'd work well too. how much is DD asking for their 6.5's, i'm betting they're proud of em... the css's aren't exactly cheap either though at 110 shipped a pop.

not sure on how much dd is asking for theirs, haven't got the final pricing for those. But this setup will be a serious step down from what i has before. 12" memphis mojo, and memphis mojo 2400 watt amp. I wanna go with the clean, sql setup this time

you gotta figure out what kins of subs your running before you look into amps, probbaly a single channel that makes 600-800 watts at the final impedance you need.

The DD i expect good performance out of, those new tangbands look insane for 6.5.

JL W7 8" is a beast of a sub, we ran my brothers on a PG tantrum 1200.1 and it beat pretty **** hard, we could bottom it out mechanically, but it had inches of throw before that happened.

Longest xmax 8" driver I know of is the RL-i and/or W7, iirc, at less than 20mm. In the 6.5 it was the xxx and Extremis that owned last i checked at approx 13mm. Those 6.5's are more for midbass though, Id look into ntheir Fs before trying to run them as subs.
