Help me pick out a laptop!

I really love my Acer. I bought an aspire 5100. it was $600 new, and i have no probelms at all. its fast as shit and overall a really great laptop for the money. unless you really into gaming and want to spend a ton of money for big on-board graphics theres no need to spend a ton of money. one thing to check is the FSB speed of the laptop. It's such a big factor on how fast the laptop is going to run that people overlook all the time. The reason i wont buy a toshiba is because of this. Their FSB speed is only 533mhz. My acer is 1600mhz. Just some friendly info.

Decent price for this, of course the video card isnt the best, but should be adequate. Add $100 for 1 year accidental damage protection as well, which I would recommend. All in all, I personally like the HP's a bit better. They look better, have slightly better video card options, and from personal experience are a little more reliable. I'm also looking for somthing in a 15.4 screen, as the 17's are a bit bulky and heavy for my tastes. I think it sucks that most places are forcing Vista on you. I would be fine with my pirated copy of XP Pro. From what I hear, Microsoft is going to end it's support of XP by the end of the year.

I would suggest checking out this link: http://www.edealinfo.com/tech.shtml

EdealInfo has a ton of good deals on Dell Laptops, and a few other brands.

Also, If anyone is interested in getting a older used laptop/desktop for general use for a few hundred bucks, check out this site: http://www.ombligo.com/epp/amo/loginaol.php Login-AOL Pass-EPP
