So, I have been using this HTC PPC-6700 for a long time now and it's starting to look pretty bad and dropping calls now the last few weeks. Gonna get a new phone.

Should I get an:

HTC Touch Diamond

Palm Treo 800w

Motorolla Q9h

I honestly don't know what to pick. While I like my current phone and I'm sure the diamond is better with some small upgrades. I like to be different. I'd feel like I was buying the same phone ;p

If you have used any of these and wanna give me an opinion on them I would appreciate it.

I also really like the new Samsung Instinct, but it can not be added to a SERO plan for whatever reason without upgrading to a 69.99/month plan. ( Not willing to give up my $30.00/month plan just for a new phone. )

i have the touch pro, out of your choices the diamond is similar but way better than the 6700, i also loved my 6700 it was better than my 6800. Also with the diamond twaeks and apps are endless and you can have the phone however u like but im sure you can probably do the same with the treo a Q

Im also on the Sero plan and i had to buy the phone full price

Thanks man, currently I'm leaning towards the Diamond just because I am familiar with HTC products and like you I really do love the 6700 I have. I love to try new things though.

I've had the 6700 and the 6800, and just picked up the Treo 800w. Also on a SERO plan.

The Treo blows away the HTC's from a memory standpoint. It's weird to have a phone that actually has enough ram to run windows mobile 6/6.1 effectively. The phone has a few bugs, some of them I've taken care of with registry tweaks, some I've got to deal with (assisted GPS being the big one).

The 800 seems to be getting mixed reviews, but coming from a Mogul, I'm very pleased with the phone. Don't like Palm's software, so it's nice to have a Palm with WM6.1.

As far as the Diamond, I like it, but I need a physical keyboard. Hope they dealt with the memory leak problems that some prior HTC's have had.

Went with you Randy, just ordered a New Palm 800w. I hope I like it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Nice.

Get your hands on SPB Mobile shell. It's a plugin for the today screen, works great. Phone looks pretty pimp with the different themes you can use.

A lot of people complain about battery life, but I've had no issues. I start using the phone at around 9AM, use email (not push) a few times a day, text 50-75 times/day, and make a handful of calls and at around 7-8PM I still have 70-80% battery, which is leaps and bounds better than my Mogul was.

Make sure you keep location on 911 only, and turn it on if you want to use GPS. This will help the battery life a ton. I also only turn on bluetooth when I'm using it, this helps a little bit.

Anything you wanna know, let me know. I've only had the phone for 2 weeks, but I've done a decent amount of tweaks and added a good amount of programs.

What do you mean issues with the GPS? It has A-GPS that uses cellular triangulation, but doesn't it have a true GPS as well? And moving from any WM phone to a Treo will be an improvement in memory and battery life, from a xv6700 to a 700wx was night and day, the only downside is no wifi, gps, and 240x240 resolution. The 800w addresses all of these, and looks like a really nice phone.

I have the 9Qh and I love it. I got it online at letstalk.com and they gave me the long life battery as well as the regular one for free. The long battery is good for about 5 days with normal use, but if you play games or text a lot it'll make it 3 without a charge. I text more than I call, averaging 1300 texts or so a month. The full keyboard is the bomb. I was going between this and an iPhone but wanted the keyboard.

There are issues with the standalone GPS, AFAIK, only A-GPS works on the phone. If you have a cell signal, this isn't an issue- and I've yet to have an issue with this (running Garmin Mobile XT). But, it still is a potential issue. Also, the 320x320 resolution can make it a nuisance when trying to find 3rd party apps that are suited to run on a square screen.

The 800 is a WM based phone, but regardless, it's suited to run WM better than the 6700/6800 were. I've been pretty satisfied with the 800 thus far.

for those of you using palms may i suggest checking out mytreo.net i get all my software from there and it awesome hell right now im usint my centro as a wireless modem to access the net sh*t is a good website and alot of ppl on there know they sh*t bout these phones kinda like this site but for phones

I use ppcgeeks.com, treocentral.com, wmexperts.com, and xda-developers.net
I use ppcgeeks.com quite a bit and xda-dev quite a bit.

http://forum.ppcwarez.org/ is a great website for allll kinds of programs/games etc, you have to sign up to view the forums but trust me it's worth it.

I have a xv6800 for verizon, it's alright - I'm on my 4th one in a year though lol. I'm getting the HTC Diamond or Raphael when it comes out for Verizooooo. I like the 6800 a lot, but it's got a lot of bugs.

Edit: re-read your post. Get the Diamond!
