Help me pick an SQ woofer

the IDQ is an upgrade in SQ although it is a dowgrade in shear output. They are both **** close in both areas but each one is a tad better in each specific area.

I would recomend either though depending on your needs. I would recommend "shrinking" your box just slightly for the IDQ though. the Max would be VERY happy in that box though.

Is it a BP600.1?

IIRC, those were 1-ohm stable, though you couldn't get any kind of power increase from it...at least the BP1200.1s were.

It is the bp600.1 but its only 2 ohm stable. Some internet sites say 1 ohm stable but the manual states nothing about that. I ran it at 1ohm for a min with 2 p2s and it went into protect.

I do listen to rap sometimes so a little spl is a good thing, for sure when I'm next to some kid at a light and I want him to hear me vs. Me hear him //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but the main goal is sq for rock, country, thrasher and jazz etc. I want a sub that will get loud if needed but has great sq up to 80-100hz.....ill have it prob at 80hZ xover with 12db slope
How much for your diyma and what's the vc config and condition? I need a dual 4 so my amp sees 2 ohms.

It's a single 4 ohm coil, so that probably wouldn't work. If you're still interested I'd do 140 shipped for it. If you were closer I could give you a break on shipping, but seeing as you're 3k miles away, shipping a 40lb box isn't cheap.

So I just looked up the image dybamics id12 v3. The power requirements are good, 400wrms, but they didn't give box specs. ???

The idq looked very nice and I would get more from my amp cuZ the rms is 600w but the box specs are 1.0cuft, how would that work with my 1.rcuft box???

How is the sq for both? Is the q way better than the I'd?

You can find a link there to the product sheet for that sub (depending on whether you do dual 4ohm or dual 2ohm). In each product sheet, it has the recommended enclosure sizes for sealed, ported and bandpass. For each of those, it has ideal (audiophile), normal (universal), and small enclosure sizes.

Looks like 1.0 cu ft is ideal for sealed box on that sub. For ported, you need 1.2-1.9 cu ft (plus port volume).

You can also enter the sub parameters into WinISDpro or some other modeling software to get recommended sizes and/or see the freq response using your existing box.

I have a mb quart pwe304 12 that would do great in that box with the same power. The sub was built by RF when they owned mb quart. Very accurate sub that sounds great. I could do $100 plus shipping.

Has anyone here used the jbl bp600.1 and can tell me for sure if it is 1 ohm stable? Some sites say yes and some say no and I think I remember the pdf saying no tooo. I just want to be sure b4 I buy a $300 sub.
