Help me pick an SQ woofer

So si subs are sq based? I ask cuz the brand has come up a couple times now and they are new to me which means nothing. B4 I jumped on forums I knew nothing other than ain brands which I know aren't the best. I didn't know who treo was b4 I bought mine. There are for sure a lot of subs I know nothing about that have been spoke about on this thread so I gotta look into them all so I'm on the up and up. Thanks again guys.

Holy sh!t, I did not think I would get this many people giving options so soon. I gotta google those subs you guys gave. As far as price the cheaper the better but deff under $300. Ill prob sell my treo to help fund the new sub. I've read great things about id subs but I've yet to hear one. A shop by my place has some though so ill see how they sound as long as they don't have it in some sh!tty prefab bandpass.
6551, How much?
if you can get a brahma 12" or 15" mk4, new for around $200-250,... its def worth it, fs of 25, (low end monsters, srsly).... i got 2 in a 5.5 cf wedge ported to 33hz with 65 in of port, peaks at 27hz with only 600 rms each driver,..... f'n loud too

Maybe I don't understand any of this.. but this doesn't sound like a recipe for Sound Quality... I would venture that this would be too boomy. Again.. this is just my interpretation.. is my assumption incorrect? I don't know..

Your Box size would work with with a Phoenix Gold RSd Competition (RSdC) also. Very good reviews of that sub, and its definitely lower on the price scale. Might be worth a try.

BTW, the DIYMA R12 would not be a good choice in that box size. It would be better in a small sealed, like .5-.7 ft^3.

yes, it is too boomy in that application, the box is just a mock up, im dropping size in my enclosure, otherwise my application would call for a few 6.5-8 inch midbass drivers for my 60hz and up fill if i were to stay with that size alignment, i was just giving him an example of what they can do with the power applied

Thanks for all the posts guys. I'm not ditching my thread but I've got work so ill have to check in later and google more subs.
If anyone has a sub that they want to trade for my treo let me know?

What about those diyma subs I used to hear about all the time? I forget the model # but it was the one with a few small round magnets with a chrome finish......I think the model wa r12 or something simple like that.
Yea, the DIYMA R12 (oh hey, I have one for sale!). With the box you have and the power you have on tap, it would work really well. The biggest downside is that if you EVER decide that you want to go balls to the wall, you need to be really careful with the cone as it's nearly paper thin aluminum.

If you don't care at all for loud, then it would be my choice hands down, and no I'm not just saying that because I have one for sale.

I do listen to rap sometimes so a little spl is a good thing, for sure when I'm next to some kid at a light and I want him to hear me vs. Me hear him //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but the main goal is sq for rock, country, thrasher and jazz etc. I want a sub that will get loud if needed but has great sq up to 80-100hz.....ill have it prob at 80hZ xover with 12db slope

How much for your diyma and what's the vc config and condition? I need a dual 4 so my amp sees 2 ohms.

si mag. my dad has one and they are sweeeet. if i was you want to run a q (reccomended! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ) you'll definitely need more powa.

So your saying the mag is what you advise and if I were to get the fiq I would need a bigger amp? I have yet to check the specs for that sub so if I don't hear back from you ill google it when I'm off work.
