help me pick a sub b4 i go crazy

Car: 2004 maxima

My List of subs :

15" L7 ported to 4.5 - 5.0

15" type R (tcab box)

or 2 JL W7's 13.5 ported to get max SPL

I would like whatever set up to have a Orion 2500D Amp

I had a 2004 silver cone L7 15" in a 3.5 slot ported box, it was ok but the system let me down, i had a hifonics 1500 watt amp on it, im gussing the box just wasnt rite for it, but still im not so sure on buying another L7

The type R ONLY looks good to me because of the TCAB boxes and vids. im not so high on these subs other wise.. but thos vids and boxes make that sub look good.. and they hit 150 soo.... they were better then my L7 thats for sure

and JL... well my problem here would be the price, and i dont want 1 13".. so .. thats the thing holding me back

Forget REaudio the only sub there id like is the MT but i cant find specs and it jus seems like a pain in the *** to even deal with them

im not really high on "no name" brands.. im sure theres good subs out there but i wana stick with trusted brands

looking for crazy SPL and make your hair dance you kno??

EDIT: Id also like to add Stroker to that list 15".. but havent heard new ones only old, but the old are crazy!

Alright u say ur not sure uwant the JL because of price,if u think those tcab boxes are cheap (ur in for a shock) and just because it is a type r in a tcab doesnt mean in anyway shape or form that u will hit 150dbs(I am not sayin u wont,but I am sure that guy had more than just a type r in a tcab and it was just burps rightCorrect me if I am wrong,so I dont think it would be that great of a daily setup for the$ when u can have L7's), But if u already have a Orion 2500,I would do 2 L7s and u would more than likey come out cheaper that a R and tcab box still,on the other hand if ur not worried about sq go for the strocker but from what I have heard it is for a very experience audio person and the wrong install and tuning can easily damage the speaker quick

(type r set up) yea he said the box would be $275 plus the sub about 250 and the amp id say what like 700 thats like 1225 plus shipping.. id say under 1500

2 W7's that amp 2 boxes.. well the cheepest i see thos for is 600 each, amp 700 and id say 150-200 for the box(s) - thats about 2100

The L7 im guessin i could get $250 each id love 2 but the box will prolly be to big 10 cubes? maybe 9 cubes at least.. i kno 2 would make me happy , i wanted 2 type r's but he said it wouldnt fit in my car

my cuzin had 2 of the old school strokers with tarantula amps.. that was loud but he had a suv so yea.. L7's r looking good i guess but im not 100% yet on how much ill have to spend .. anyone hear thos new strokers and what would you compare them to?

The R isnt in the same Category as the L7 and the W7, in my honest opinion. The Overall SQL of the two 13w7's will be amazing, but you're looking at a HUGE price.

You want an amazign one sub setup?

Buy a 18" Kicker Solo X

Put I'd say a good 3000 watts to it

And pee your pants

id LOVE the solox, but id want it for what it can do and to me that means 10 cubes, theres no way id get that in my car, i jus wish they would make a **** 15" solo x, altho im sure that still would take a shit load of space.. so i guess im looking at 1 15" or the W7s, but what can i get better the the L7? besides RE, AA .. something like the stroker.. i wonder would 1 solo x 12 out do the 15" l7? spl wise??

Polecat would be the man to answer that,but I think in a good box the solo x in the long end(another orion if u want to take that route)But I think a 15" L7 with maybe a 1200d,would be a great setup for a daily setup.

I think the two 15 L7's and the 12" Solo X would be fairly close in output. I could be wrong, but I'd assume they'd be close. Two 15L7's is going to use a HELLACIOUS amount of room. The Single 12 would save you room

Not to mention, people would chit themselves when you told them it was one 12 back there making it hard to breathe.

no i like RE.. but id want the MT's and the thing is i dont build boxes im not all into subwoofers, theres no specs on the MT, how many watts at what ohms, what size box and i heard when u order it u gotta pretty much build it, im not good like that u kno.. but i kno RE is good dont get me wrong

also i was only talking about 1 15" L7 to 1 12" solox, but **** if you think 1 12" solo x will be as good as 2 15" l7s then i should give thos solo x's a try haha

i'd say 2 12" L7s, or if you can fit it, 2 15" type-rs. look at those new pioneer spls those things are nasty
