Help me pick a single DIN Navi Head Unit up to 1k

I've been looking around @ navi head units because i need one for my new job.

It looks like so many of the companies are only making double din units now which sucks for me cause i can't fit that in my truck.

I've been looking @ the kenwood KVT-696 w/ the KNA-G610 navi unit add on or possibly the Pioneer Avic-N5. The pioneer has nearly 2x the POI's, but i can't listen to CD's and utilize most of the Nav features at the same time. The Kenwood is garmin based nav and does some pretty cool shit.

Anybody have any experience with either of those or any suggestions on another unit that might be better?

Looking to spend like 1k @ most, thanks for any input.

EDIT: I'll most likely be getting this unit off ebay or something similar, so i guess i can find most any unit for under 1k, so the price really doesn't matter.
