help me pick a second batt

Going to add a second batt in my trunk.

I have a shuriken bt 100 under the hood and I have a mechman 150a HO alt

what batt should I put in the back, and should I have a bigger one in the back and a smaller one up front or viece versa?

im running 2-3k daily

I have a kinetik source, which one would you recommend?

well ya, but do they have to be matched to the same AH and CA rating or can i just get a smaller one to add?

I have identical batteries in the from and the back running parallel, just the MAXX series from Batteries Plus, I think they're rated at 800 or 850 CCA at 0 degrees. I don't use battery isolators.

They say mixing batteries is bad but my friends and I have done it many times without a problem. As long as the batteries holds good charge and has never been drained out then you should be fine.

MEh, Kinetiks are over rated.I had an HC1800, it is a good batt though. Look into powermaster.

Why not match what you have and then some? Some batteries will say they can power a lot more than any single alt can put out, while it may look great on paper after about 30-40 seconds (or less) of dipping into the sub 11 volt range and having a $1300 amp going into protection might make you think otherwise (seen it happen first hand). If your system can draw a lot more than your alt can put out you will need more capacity and a way to monitor and to keep your batteries charged.
