Help Me Pick a Budget Mono <$150

the kicker only does 200 watt rms
yes 200 @ 4 but it does 400 @ 2 and are usually under rated.

my vote is for the Kicker as it is the best quality amp of the bunch, then maybe the MTX would be my 2nd choice.

Personally I use an MTX (421d) mono now and have nothing but good things to say about it so far.

Thanks for all the input guys. I just realized that one of my choices was spelled wrong! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

3. *MTX TC3001 $100

900 Watts max

150 Watts RMS x 1 @ 4 ohms

300 Watts RMS x 1 @ 2 ohms

My old amp, I miss it. Im actually looking for another one. Indeed, thats a great amp. Solid as anything...

Yep, I used it for a few days. Didnt need it for my new install, but now I need it back. I have owned 5 MTX 4250D's and 2 421D's and regret selling all of them. Dam, I wish I would have kept it...Lol

wanna buy it back????

LOL I do like the amp , but I am thinking I may want to go bigger subs and amp.

kicker or kenwood

I have narrowed down my choices for a class-D budget mono amp. The amp needs to be less than $150 shipped and must produce at least 300W @ 2ohms. The amp also needs to be digital since I am running this in a 2001 Civic that has a weak stock alternator. The amp will be powering a CDT HD-1020 subwoofer in a ported cabinet that will probably be 1.3cu ft @ 32Hz. The sub is 400W RMS and 800W peak. I don't need to pound the sub I just want a cheap amp that will get the job done. What do you guys think?
1. Directed D600 $80

600W Peak

RMS Power Output:

200 watts x 1 chan. @ 4 ohms

300 watts x 1 chan. @ 2 ohms

2. Kenwood KAC-8103D $90

1000W Peak

RMS Power Output:

300 watts x 1 channel @ 4 ohms

500 watts x 1 channel @ 2 ohms

3. MTC TC3001 $100

900 Watts max

150 Watts RMS x 1 @ 4 ohms

300 Watts RMS x 1 @ 2 ohms

4. Kicker ZX400.1 $100

200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (400 watts x 1 at 2 ohms)

400 watts Peak x 1 at 4 ohms (800 watts x 1 at 2 ohms)

5. Power Acoustik REACT1-1100 $90

4-Ohms @ 300 x 1

2-Ohms @ 400 x 1

Power Handling (MAX) : 1100 Watts
