Help me pic a nav unit out

I posted this in the electronics/ nav section a few days ago and didnt get much feedback, so hopefully it will get more response here. sorry for the double post. Im going to be getting a double din nav unit soon and its come down to the pioneer Avic Z1 or Eclipse AVN 5495 or possibly the Eclipse AVN 6600. If i go with the eclipse it will most likely be the 6600 just cause i dont really care much about the harddrive so it will save me some money. I really like the pioneer and ive heard great things about the nav on it. The only thing im worried about is ive heard the newer made pioneer units(made in july and on) arent able to be bypassed by flashing your headlights or buying the chip(according to avic411.com). So which unit would you choose in my situation, and has anyone successfully been able to bypass there avic z1 that has been purchased in the last month or so. THanks all
