help me on sound deadener

okay man, we told you what was good, and what isnt.

you're either gonna listen, or you're not.

my post earlier said i had a shitload of that stuff in my explorer (and by shitload, i mean like 250sq ft), and my raamat/ensolite combo now outperforms it with less materials.

i also posted above about an effective way for improvement.

get the raamaat.
I put a SHITLOAD of edead deadining in my explorer, which did okay.

but, two rolls of raamat and 7sq yards of ensolite in my new ride absolutely destroyed the edead.

the raamat is the best bank for the buck for sure. you wont regret it.

Do a layer inside the door, a layer on the door to seal all the big holes up, and a layer of ensolite over the top, and you will see a huge improvement.

I am going to be soewhat blunt here. I haqve used some of the other products out there and there is NO comparison to Second Skin, the closest thing to it would be Dynamat although the Second Skin has a thicker foil backing which I like better but both of those are the best on the market period the end. You mention doubling up with some other products, now consider that for a second. Your willing to double work for the less than the same results? You also run into the very serious potential of it falling off in 6 months as well, trust me I need to redo my doors in my truck because 70% has come off because I also thought your way at one point. I put 400ft (yes NOT a typo) of SS in my car and it is still rock solid nearly a year later. about a month after using deadener "x" in my truck I applied SS to the back wall and with "x" all falling off, the SS is still rock solid on the back wall. Spend the coin now for a superior product.
People told you the options you should look at.

That's it.

This guy who wrote this. Knows his stuff.

He wouldn't lead you astray.

Do it right the first time.

ok so since i will only have 62 feet of raamat i should only do 2 layers one inner and one outer for doors so roughly 12 per door so 25 total and then leave me with 37 feet for my roof and possibly can squeeze two layers on my roof if i have enough

I got raamat and i like it. I also have a few gallons of liquid and thats great for the car too but mostly on the floor and trunk. The liquid is so easy to use in the trunk and floor just pour it in and slap it around. raamat was very sticky and holding great. I like to put more deadener on large flat areas and less on curved stiffer parts.

yea well i read asphalt based deadener is bad well the fatmat i read is a rubberized compound on their website so how is that stuff so bad and it has 100% money back guarntee

and the b-quiet extreme is a ruberized asphalt isnt that the same as raamat, also i have the speaker piece of the dynamat original in my truck came factory just a small piece 12"x12" and its pretty thick and has always stuck to the door panel very good its the rubber asphalt material hows that stuff

The original dynamat was an asphalt product too, it was revised to dynamat extreme, a butyl product which is the second best product on the market. Its usually expensive... but me personally I get it for the same price as I could get RAAMat so....

FatMat is not a butyl product, they say that on their site because its technically a "rubberized asphalt" Its the same composition and thickness as peel and seal.

"Rubberized compound" is just a dishonest way to describe asphalt. All asphalt roofing products have rubber added, it doesn't make them butyl or anything other than asphalt. FatMat used to claim on the Web site that it was butyl. They got called out on that. Instead of outright lying, they agreed to to just be misleading //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

There's another thread on the same page as yours that goes into all of this in detail. Don't hurt yourself doing research.

Man, I cannot believe some people. We are talking about $100 here, not the end of the world. Would you skimp on speakers or amps. Tell you what, why use good amps when the Cuspid amps on ebay go for little to nothing and have the sma ratings and specs as the zapco stuff. Do those amps because of the budget. As Shane said, do it right thhe first time or pay later. I have not personally used RAAMmat but Rick is suppossed to be a GREAT guy and I really haven't heard too many complaints.

ok then i read some reviews on B-Quiet extreme and see that its not too bad either anyone have input on that stuff
