I just picked up two 12 inch PG Octanes, RMS 250 watts Peak 500.

I would like an Octane Amp As well, but I don't know which one (or two) would power their RMS sufficently because Im an audio dumbarse. I was thinking about two 500 watt peak 5.0:1's But I was told two amps is a bad idea. Can somene please show me which (octanes very much prefered) amp(s) I should pickup. Thank you!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I've got the 8.1:1 for my three PG 10D subs.. Each sub is rated at 250W RMS. It gets plenty load for me without having to turn up the sound level to high. I'm running it off of 4ga. with an 100A fuse. This amp is 2-Ohm stable.

For your applications, it will be at 300W RMS per sub, as the 8.1:1 is rated at 600W RMS...

This says 800 max power and your saying itll put out an rms thatll give each sub 300 rms?

OCTANE-R 8.0:1

----------------------------

• High efficiency Class "D" monoblock amplifier

• 18dB variable LP crossover

• 18dB variable subsonic filter

• Low Pass Level port (LPL)

• Dimensions: 14.75L x 10.875W x 2.25H

800W x 1 (2 ohm mono)

max power

The package says 800W Max, 600W RMS, the number you go off is "RMS".

So for two subs, you divide the RMS by the number of subs you have. In your case, 600/2 = 300W per sub...

For me, 600/3 = 200W per sub...

For your subs, they are rated at 250W RMS, and you will be pumping 300W into them. 50W extra shouldn't damage your subs, but you might want to ask around...

Get the Xenon X600.1, this is higher line of compared to octane. This amp has a tecnology that i really like, it puts out all the watts of rms power it is rated at no matter what ohm load you run it between a 1 ohm load and 4 ohm load.

OCTANE-R 8.0:1

• High efficiency Class "D" monoblock amplifier

• 18dB variable subsonic filter

• Low Pass Level port (LPL)

• Dimensions: 14.75L x 10.875W x 2.25H

Its 800 peak. Just get the octane 8.0:1 and be done.

Another quick question, does PG make good 6*9's? If so would i need a second amp to power them.

Edit: if yes, which octane r one would work.

What does your setup consist of? Honestly I dnt run rear fill. Just a good set of componenets upfront should be enough. If you want some 6*9s check out the pg rsds.

Well heres what i was planning but im a rookie so maybe it's not good so please feel free to critisize.

Haven't decided on a deck but probably something by Pioneer in the 500 dollar range

2 4" PG Octane fronts

2 12" PG Subs

1 8.0:1 PG amp

And maybe 2 6*9's and another amp.

Is this a good setup? I want my sub to be the focus but not completely because i listen to both Metal and Rap (conflicting I know)

Rear fill throws your imaging out the window, and is really not needed, unless you really want ur passengers to hear everything. Even with that, in my car my passengers never had trouble hearing the music.

Is it a coincedence you recommended just a pair of 6.5s for the front and thats what your selling //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
