Yep, I am stumped.

ok. so here is my situation

I have one

H/O alt.

Two 12's

2 amps @

each amp rating is like so:

X3.71

12 Volts DC @ 4ohms

1270 (71.3vac)

1305 (72.3vac)

1410 (75.1vac)

12 Volts DC @ 2ohms

2310 (67.9vac)

2380 (69.0vac)

2570 (71.7vac)

12 Volts DC @ 1ohm

3560 (59.6vac)

3670 (60.5vac)

3950 (62.8vac)

14.4 Volts DC @ 4hms

1750 (83.6vac)

1800 (84.8vac)

1945 (88.2vac)

14.4 Volts DC @ 2ohms

3240 (80.5vac)

3330 (81.6vac)

3600 (84.8vac)

14.4 Volts DC @ 1ohm

More than likely your looking to run street or amatuer classes. With meca its really your choice which class to run. Jusy pick your fuse ratings.

2 12= 226.19

S1 0 - 550 -- 1 Fuse Maximum 27 amp fuse

S2 551 - 1000 -- 2 Fuses Maximum 77 amp fuse

S3 1001 - 2000 -- 3 Fuses Maximum 177 amp fuse

S4 2001 - 4000 -- 4 Fuses Maximum 377 amp fuse

S5 4001+ -- Fuses Not Required

Now seen alot of current pulled through those small fuses so really I get some fuses and start testing to see if you blow fuses. What exact amps are you running BTW?

well, I have been competing blindly. I have switch setup many times and no one ever game me a straigh answer.

I also had to cut metal to get box in. How does that change the game. I can't do amature or street.

as of now I think I have points in S2, S3, S4 S5 and now I find out I am in M5 unfused or M4.... which is most likely my final answer

Won't change the fuse rating. Just change the S to a M to pick your class. I would think you could do decent in M3 or M4 MAYBE get away with M2. You probably won't be really competitive in those classes but if you're just looking to have fun thats where you'll be.

I want to be competative. need to run these at max potential because of several reasons. One reason is because I changed from T5-12's to X3-122 subs. I have never metered these subs in this setup. this is all new.

The T5-12's hit 145 off one X3.71 rear firing into the trunk.

These new subs are forward firing and going to be firing into a sealed cabin, trunk sealed off.

There is a noticable difference in the sound, but it is hard to tell the benefits.

I figured it is mainly because the subs firing positions are different. the T5-12 lost output also, when I had the forward firing... went down to a 138, 142,

Well, they are doing mid 150's in m3. You might be fairly competitive locally if you can touch a 150.

Actually just looked at points. In AZ you'd be competitive with MID 140's in M3 lol

yea, pain in my ass. should just say fuck-it and do M5, **** fuses. and try and see what sealing the cabin up does for me. I hate to restrict my wattage/voltage

ok well, help me figure out what fuses do what please. I am confused on the fuses and # of amps being used
Probably best and easiest way is to get a 175 amp ANL fuse get this style of fuse holder:

ANL Fuseholder Car Fuse Holder WORKS WITH ANY SIZE WIRE | eBay

Put it as close to your amps as possible and run wire to your amps. I remember a video kind of showing what I'm talking about I'll find for you.

I have some Mini fuses and mini holders coming. I got the 80 amps. cuzz I got 4 runs of pos, 2 on each amp. so that is 160 per amp. should I get more fuses,

well, fuck , I guess I just wasted my $ today. I cant use that shit. these amps draw close to 500 each. These rules are fucking stupid.
Yeah, they are kind of Off but I have seen some people pull some serious current threw not a lot of fusing

Heres an example of a way I've seen MECA fusing done before:
