Focal K2's sounding muddy - how to troubleshoot?

I just installed a set of Focal K2 speakers in my Camry. The 4 in mid/woofer is in the door, and the tweeter is mounted near the A pillar,so the imaging is fine.

However, the audio sounds muddy, as if I'm playing very low bitrate music. I am imputing high quality audio, so that is not the problem.

Here's the setup:

JL Cleansweep is connected via RCA to an Alpine MRP-F300 50wRMS @4ohm 4 chammel amp. The amp outputs to two Alpine 6x9s in the rear deck, and to crossovers for the front speakers. The crossovers are connected to the Focal 100krs speakers.

I am playing audio through the aux in on the Cleansweep, which passes it straight through to the amp.

What could the problem be? Is the amp not powerful enough? the speakers are 60w RMS, I believe.

Thanks!
