digidash hit the gas...
I bought a Volfenhag zx-7180 dirt cheap off of ebay a few months back and it came non working. I got my money back but I still have the amplifier.

I took the amp apart today for the first time, and I can't see any burn marks on the board. Are there any basic strategies to see what is failed on the amp and if I can repair it? I can post pictures of the guts if it helps. Inside looks pretty clean actually. I just wouldnt mind having a spare amp that puts out a decent amount of power. I got a few hours to kill over spring break so I figure I might as well try and figure this thing out.

Looking at it, I found a few really corroded resistors that lead to a bank of transistors on the side. Im gonna try and take the whole thing apart and replace over the next week. Ill get pics soon.

The amp's probably not worth fixing, but at least you can learn a little bit about how they work maybe by trying. I always liked to take things apart and try to put them back together.
