Well I will be getting another car soon, more than likely another Explorer and I am thinking about getting a new sub. I will be keeping my current amp (kicker 08zx750.1) It is rated at 928 rms on the birthsheet. The current subs I am looking at are the FI Q, FI BL, and SSA Icon. Mainly I am looking for SQL. I plan on using a ported box, tuned to 33 hz. and I am not sure on how big to make it yet. Do any of these subs have notorious mechanical problems? Which one would be the best with my amp? Again I want to get real low, yet still get plenty loud. Are there any other comparable SQL subs that can handle around 1000 w. rms like these? Thanks.

those are some very good choices. maybe look at dc audio(iammp3pimp has pr 18s, ask him his shi* is very loud) and ascendant audio. at fla finals quite. a few vehicles w/ ascendant that sound really nice. that is what galactic monkey has in his van.insane. there many others incriminator death row. the american bass hd's really slam(they don't drop down as low as some of the others)

in my opinion all the re's sound very good. certain models have better sq than others (mx, xxx) but i like the way they all sound. even the mt's in the right box sound pretty good.

okay so what do you guys think about reliability? I have heard of FI having some tinsel lead problems with some of thier subs.... anybody know if that's true?

I had a very similar setup. 12" fi q ported 2.5^3 ft tuned to 32hz. Also was running a kicker zx750.1 with birthsheet of 924. Sounded awesome and hit the lows like crazy.
