Another question why black? Is this going to be a daily driver? I'm not sure where you live but i will never ever own another black car. I'm extremely anal about my car and the visibility of dirt and stone nicks drove me crazy. Black looks only good clean and from about 10 feet away. Once a black car has about 30-40k here in the northeast forget about it. The cinders in the winter will eat the paint alive.
That is a bold statement to a degree. I feel from owning a lot of black vechichles in the Northeast over the years that if you take care of your car and clean it from time to time it will be fine. Rock chips happen in any car, just black shows up more, but depends on how much highway driving and angle of the front end of the vechichle. Dirt is dirt on any car, but again just shows up easily on a black or white car.

If you don't take care of them like my parents did with their eclispe and cavalier, both black, they will fall apart. The cavalier had so much rust I thought it was gonna fall apart! Strong engine though and they bought it new in 94 and drove over 210, 000 miles with nothing ever wrong with the engine, but the body because they cleaned it once every few months and detailed it once every couple years it fell apart. Plus it had well over 150,000 high way miles.

The eclispe, which I ended up buying off my parents and had repainted was more due to the paint from the factory of Mitsubushi. Parents had it in their contract and paid extra when they bought the car if it had any major rust, paint problems it would be repaired for free. Well 2 years later it was pretty rusted and they painted it for free. How long it lasts is beyond me, but I just sold the car in early summer.

I did have an s10(over 30k) all black for a few years and never had any rust (Which they are known for) or many paint chips. Did have the side repainted due to my Dad borrowing it and hitting a wall, lol! But the truck always shinned. Also my current car which is a 2006 Ford Focus St is in great shape still and will be two years this Feb. No chips, nor any problems with the paint. I clean it once a week and detail it every 6 months.

Will say they do get dirty easily, but it all comes down to how much you want to take care of it and how much highway driving you do. A lot can factor in to it. Just because you don't like black cars and is pretty much your opinion shouldn't make you state why do you want black? Maybe he likes black vechichles. I do as well and when cleaned up, nothing looks better in black IMO.

Oh yeah, I would go with the M3 since you seem to have extra cash lying around from owning so many vechichles. So should be able to handle it if something happens to it. Not fond of Corvettes of any type.
I actually don't really have much money to throw around. I would end up having to take out like a $20,000 loan to pay for the $30,000 vehicle.

This would be my first really expensive car, the most I've paid for a car was $6500 for my mustang. But I had that, another mustang and two talons paid off in the past 8 months. Around like $10,000 on cars. I'm kinda an impulse buyer, when I was big in stereo, I had $5000 dollars worth of stereo and most of it was just sitting in my room.

The Corvette deserves its respect, but since you're going with a C5 I'd definitly scoot on over to the Cobra. The two are more comparable than people think, but the price difference is just another plus (not to mention insurance drops). I'm not so sure the M3 should be in this catagory. Nice car, no doubt. Had you put "WS6" in the list.. There would have been no thought whatsoever. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif But the Cobra gets my vote.

Wait for the Pontiac G8 GXP. ~400hp rwd 4 door. GM's new platforms are great, and you'll be able to get into one for around 35k. Possibly lower actually.
I don't think I could do a 4 door. I've never had one before and I don't know if I could do one.

ws6 is the same exact thing as a regular ***** am. It has the same or a lesser motor than the vettes I put on my list.

Oh man, they're great. The G8 performs fantastically (Its almost identical cousins do anyway) and has the convenience of a 4 door. I would at least wait and give one a test drive, you might be very surprised.

GTO was a great suggestion too, you can get them for not much change at all.

C5 Z06 will SPANK a Cobra around the track. Could take on the GT500 as well.

M3 is an awesome touring car. A blast to drive, and plenty nice on the inside.
