I'll have to look into it anyway. what are its cousins? I thought about a gto too, but I didn't know If i could afford the ls2 ones.
The Holden Commodore and the Vauxhall VXR8 are its Australian and European counterparts, respectively.

As for the GTO, you should be able to get a LS2 Flavored one for ~25,000 with low miles.

I personally like the looks of the LS1 version better. But not a whole lot of people share that position.

C5 Z06 will SPANK a Cobra around the track. Could take on the GT500 as well.
Agreed. The Cobra is still not far behind pulling .90+ lateral acceleration which is **** good for what it is. As far as the Shelby being 800lbs. heavier, I'm sure it'll still get nice track times if that's what you're looking for.

ws6 is the same exact thing as a regular ***** am. It has the same or a lesser motor than the vettes I put on my list.
I don't recall any *****-Am producing the same power as the WS6. Same with the Z28 and SS Camaro's. They also have better suspension/steering than a base model *****-Am. And the only major difference between the LS1 in the Vette is the cam. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'm just throwing out an opinion. Which is what you asked for. Just trying to save you a little more money in the long run for go-fast-goodies, a louder system or whatever else suits you.

it is a myth that the ss or ws6 makes more power than the z28 and ***** am. its just a marketing ploy. I don't doubt the suspension and steering differences, just the power ratings. I actually kind of wanted a LS1 camaro because I really like their looks and with only a cam you can get above the 400 hp mark.

The Z06 vette actually has an LS6 instead of an LS1, idk if thats just the cam difference you're talking about or if its a completely different block since I haven't really looked into it.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

That is a bold statement to a degree. I feel from owning a lot of black vechichles in the Northeast over the years that if you take care of your car and clean it from time to time it will be fine. Rock chips happen in any car, just black shows up more, but depends on how much highway driving and angle of the front end of the vechichle. Dirt is dirt on any car, but again just shows up easily on a black or white car.
If you don't take care of them like my parents did with their eclispe and cavalier, both black, they will fall apart. The cavalier had so much rust I thought it was gonna fall apart! Strong engine though and they bought it new in 94 and drove over 210, 000 miles with nothing ever wrong with the engine, but the body because they cleaned it once every few months and detailed it once every couple years it fell apart. Plus it had well over 150,000 high way miles.

The eclispe, which I ended up buying off my parents and had repainted was more due to the paint from the factory of Mitsubushi. Parents had it in their contract and paid extra when they bought the car if it had any major rust, paint problems it would be repaired for free. Well 2 years later it was pretty rusted and they painted it for free. How long it lasts is beyond me, but I just sold the car in early summer.

I did have an s10(over 30k) all black for a few years and never had any rust (Which they are known for) or many paint chips. Did have the side repainted due to my Dad borrowing it and hitting a wall, lol! But the truck always shinned. Also my current car which is a 2006 Ford Focus St is in great shape still and will be two years this Feb. No chips, nor any problems with the paint. I clean it once a week and detail it every 6 months.

Will say they do get dirty easily, but it all comes down to how much you want to take care of it and how much highway driving you do. A lot can factor in to it. Just because you don't like black cars and is pretty much your opinion shouldn't make you state why do you want black? Maybe he likes black vechichles. I do as well and when cleaned up, nothing looks better in black IMO.
My point is was if you're looking for a used black car with 30-40k miles on it would be tough to find one that would meet my criteria if you live in a region that has harsh winters. I had a black 2002 cavalier and despite me taking great care of it, washed 2-3 times a week from April-November and atleast once a week in the winter the hood took a beatin from stones. I threw around the idea of re-painting it but decided to just cut ties with it at 55k miles this past May primarily because the nicks, it just drove me nutts. The car did have mostly highway miles which did contribute to it but even then i drove defensively to limit chips.
