Help me choose. :(

I am looking for a 2-channel amplifier to power a set of Rainbow Audio Cal25 tweeters and a set of Rainbow Audio SLC 6.5" components.

Each speaker/set takes a 100watts RMS, both are 4-ohms and both will give the amplifier a final load of 2-ohms.

My current choices are:

eD NINe.2

Pros: Cheap at $220, Small size, can fit under the seat a lot easier.

Cons: Questionable reliability, overrated?(Not sure on that one)

Sundown SAX-100.2

Pros: Unquestionable reliability, underrated?(Not sure on this one either)

Cons: $299 price tag, a little bit bigger.

Sundown. Underrated, does more like 125w at 4ohm. Very reliable.

The ED is a good choise too, but in this case its the Sundown, hands down.

If you had $300 to spend, you might be able to find a used Sundown 100.4 and go active.

Can be had for around 200+shipping on ebay. Will put out 150 watts per channel and has a super small footprint.

150watts at 2-Ohms would severely underpower the speaker sets I believe.

Well right now I am leading more towards the eD since 25watts more doesn't really warrant $80 more.

But with two speaker sets hooked up to the amplifier, wouldn't that split the 150watts? So each set would be getting around 75watts. The other amplifiers are ideal because when the speaker sets are hooked up to them, it presents a 2-ohm load and the other amplifiers output 200+ watts at 2-ohms allowing 100 or more watts to the component set and the tweets.

Are you hooking up two full component sets, or just one full set and one tweeter set?
Because if you are just wiring a comp set with another set of tweeters, you will only get a 2-ohm load at frq's reproduced by the tweeters. Frq's produced by your 6.5's will still present a 4-ohm load to your amplifier.

Are you hooking up two full component sets, or just one full set and one tweeter set?
Because if you are just wiring a comp set with another set of tweeters, you will only get a 2-ohm load at frq's reproduced by the tweeters. Frq's produced by your 6.5's will still present a 4-ohm load to your amplifier.

Just to clear that up.

Why? Seems like that would make things exceptionally bright up front.
That will give you a 2-ohm load at frq's above the x-over point, and a 4-ohm load below it. If you use an amp that doubles output into 2-ohms, you will have twice as much power going to your tweeters as you will to your 6.5's.
