Help me build my system

Basically, don't want a subwoofer.

I need a HU, 4 speakers and whatever amplifier.

The speakers are 6.5" all around.

I'm not big on bass, loudness isn't nearly as important as clarity and *quality* of sound.

I don't want a big fancy screen, or a gps unit or anything major in my HU. Just a quality deck, I *will* use fancy options music wise, as i've done it before. Other then that, bling is not for me.

Price isn't really an issue, i'm not looking to drop 1500$ on speakers, but i don't have a problem spending 400-500$ for a really nice component set.

I currently have infinity perfect 6.5's components but i'm thinking of upgrading. (Nothing is installed yet, just having second thoughts) I also have one of the top of the line pioneer DEH decks from a few years back and a kicker 4x600 watt. All of which i'm thinking of taking it up a few notches (they are from old vehicle)

just something to consider, to get the best SQ you want the whole freq range, including substage. you might not want a wall of 18"s but a single or pair of 8"s or single 10" is something to think about.

as far as what music. Alternative/indie/emo/rock

Not big on hip hop or rap or dance etc.

I'm aware well done subs will give an overall better sound, but i'd just rather be without them if at all possible.

absolutly can go without, most stock cars don't have. thing is that you can get like a set of rainbow germaniums(just what popped into head but not a bad choice) upfront and a pair of nice 8"s in rear deck would be yummy and take not much more power then a pair of comps back there.

8" can fit where 6.5" does ? (I know there are adapters and such, but isn't it car dependant?)

What would be a good choice to compliment germaniums in the front, for rear fill?

What kind of amp also? I'm an amp newbie. HU's i know a decent amount about.
