Help me build a setup to compete in MECA.

I have been doing tons of research on equipment, boxes, electrical etc for SPL. I am currently going through the MECA rule book. Not sure what class I would be in yet...

A little about me, well I'm 19 and drive a 2002 Honda Accord EX basically stock except for 5% tint, 19" Axis wheels on Nitto tires, and an Alpine 9887 hu.

My problem is I don't know where to start with equipment. I still want to use the system daily and not be a one note wonder. I've seen lots of aero ports in my findings and they look to be great to use since you can re-use them if you build a new box. I would like to use a single sub setup.

My budget is under $1,000.00 for the sub and amp. Wiring and other accessories aren't included in the sub and amp budget.

I would appreciate it if you guys could please post some suggestions for setups. I'm baffled by the endless possibilities, I almost forgot. My goal is to get into the 140's.

i dont know much about MECA but with that budget you should be able to get into the 140's

Simple setup for a trunk car in MECA would be a 15" sub and a good size amp.

Something like a DD 9515, BTL, HDC3 and a good 2-3kw amp will get you far especially if you want to compete in the amateur class.

Sub forward firing into the cabin, external aeroports firing towards the driver's side. Should be good for at least mid 140's at the headrest on music.

good choice on the DD, maybe a kinetik 2400 in the back would help

If you dont get into the 140s with that equipment you fail. That should be good for at least mid 40s on music if you have the electrical to back it up.
