Help me build a modest system

Hello,

New to the forums and it’s been years since I was into car audio stuff.

Needless to say a lot has changed and I need some advice pairing up a modest system upgrade in my 2000 Subaru Outback Wagon.

Here’s what I want:

Decent 6.5” door speakers (x4) in the $60 range that will sound good and provide a full range of frequencies.

Small compact 4-channel amp to drive the 4 door speakers.

No sub so I’d like whatever door speakers to have decent bass.

I have an aftermarket Sony head unit with preamp outs.

Here’s what I’m looking at:

Fosgate PBR300X4 300w 4 channel amp

JBL GTO638 6.5-Inch 3-Way Speakers

Or

Kenwood Kfc-P709Ps component speakers

Problem with the JBL is they claim to be 2-ohm and the amp is 4-ohm only.

At any rate, that list is not concrete it was just what I pulled together based on some reviews online and the fact that I want a really tiny amp because there’s not much extra space in my Subaru to mount a monster.

Any suggestions based on or around my budget and the list I provided is greatly appreciated.

thanks.
