Help me build a (mainsteam system for friend for $500 bucks

Ok so he is not like us. He doesn't think that our brands that we buy are really as good as mainstream(I know I know, but I don't argue) anyway... for used stuff of course. His current setup is.

Kicker VR Comps 12"S in a Kicker box. box is tuned too 55hz. So I don't know if he will get a new box or not. I think the cu.ft is like 3.0 or 2.5 cu.ft on my guess.

Infinity reference amp. It is about 800watts bridged @ 2ohms. So it is doing about 400watts.

All stock electrical. 4 gauge. He wants too go twice as loud he says. I told him it could be done if he bought all used stuff for that price.

For $500 in mainstream products...

Tell him to buy a JL 1000/1 used and a JL w7 13 ,

He might need to save another 100-200 , which is well worth it and would rattle his car

I'll sell him my RE XXX and Orion 2500D for just outside of his price range. That would rattle his car more than a window sticker brand setup like he wants. Just throwing it out there.

heh, he just doesn't kno. I don't blame them tho, because We all started out somewhere liking mainsteam product but then again. I never had someone to guide me in the proper direction like he does.

500 for what? Sub and amp? sub amp and possibly new wiring?

comps set? comp amp?

for 500 tell him to let you build him something using "off brand" subs and amps
