HELP: MD2D and XXX disaster!!!!

Been hearing about a couple MD2's going out...

It's defintely wired in series, I triple checked that.

umm... series?? the diagram u showed is parallel...

but as i said... just double, triple, quadruple check the wiring, all of them, make sure no fray wires are like grounding out on the speaker basket, the amp itself, etc, that can usually be easily identified.

doh, I meant didn't wire it in series. I wired it parellel exactly like the diagram.

i think that if you saw smoke we know the amp is dead, it may have been something that happened during shipping, my autotek was hurt during shipping. not always user error

Dude, I'm stumped. everything is clean as a whistle and all wiring seems to be correct.

true there when i was working shipping ups wouldnt allow any claims they would reply that the packing wasnt good enough......alot of boxes can fall off a 20 ft tall belt funny thing is they dont tell you to pack it for that type of impact...

A buddy of mine bought a pair of MD2's from a dealer in Columbus, Ohio one did the exact same thing yours did, sent it back and the new one as well as the original that did not go bad, went out within 2 weeks. Dealer said they had some problems with parts not being secured on the boards and coming lose in shipping or some crap like that..........

He got 2 Kicker SX1250 and had 0 problems..............

a couple questions.... did you have your fuse/ground unhooked? also if possible can you take a picture on how you wired your amp up?

I had my breaker under the hood off when wiring up but my ground wasn't unhooked? I have a distro blk for my grounds, one going into my soundstream 700s and another going into the US MD2. All grounds were connected.

I'll try to get pics today.

That sucks. I dunno what its like to have an amplifier go poof on me.

Yeah man, totally blows. I was so siked to hear it. Mood killer. Another bad thing is I had to take my entire trunk apart to take the VGA1600 out and put the MD2 in, then put it all back together.
