Well I just tried hooking everything up and sparks flew!!!!! Please someone me what the hell I did wrong?

I have a Dual 2 ohm XXX sub so I was wiring a 1 ohm load.

exactly like this:

1_2ohmDVC_1ohm.gif

I connected the positive terminal on the left side on the amp to the positive on the sub and the negative terminal on the left side to the negative on the sub. Then ofcourse wire the +'s together and the -'s together on the sub.

Turn it on in it was like the 4th of July!!!!

What could it be?!?!?!?!?!

What did I do wrong???????

Well, I had the XXX hooked up to my VGA1600.2, worked perfectly. The MD2D was purchased from a member BNIB who got it from flakko(Jeremy). I don't think it ever saw power before.

does the vc not rub on the xxx or is it too shot to tell? at finals last year when mt's blew the vc shorted on some internal motor structure and burned up about quarter sized holes in the coil and former. where was the sparks coming from the amp or the sub? take a dmm set on ohms attach to speaker leads and push up and down on the cone there might be an issue there or the amp might be doa

im sure u didnt... but make sure i didnt hook the speakers in parallel and accidentally hook one + to a - and the other + to the other -, weird thigns can happen with small mistakes like that.

It's defintely wired in series, I triple checked that.
