So i just picked up a JL Audio 8w7-3 ohm with Hard to find JL Audio H.O. enclosure for 150 on ebay classifieds. now it is used by a older italian guy who listened to salsa music. he had it powered by a Rockford Fosgate P300-1. 300w rms @ 2ohm. because that his amp was a class a/b and not the old school stuff i trust. i didn't take the amp for $40. i know that the sub is rated at 500 Max rms and considering it was only getting about 225w @ 3 ohm since he bought it in 2007. im thinking i can bump up to 500 without worry. lucky me i have a brand new 2003 Fosgate power 501bd been sitting in my closet for 13 years ( i also bought the power 1501bd and used it instead) now on the 501bd it's rated at 300 @ 4 ohm and 500 @ 2 ohm. I'm thinking that it will match the sub perfectly. on the other hand the birthsheet says actually 680w rms @ 2 ohm. do you guys think that it would be to. much I'm thinking. it would be right about 550w rms at 3 ohm if i did my math correctly. now on to some pics :B....
