...front 3-way stage that is.

I just purchased a 2004 VW R32 which I had intentions of installing a full active 3-way front stage. However, upon analyzing the door setups I do not think I can accomplish this. Hopefully you will be able to see the picture and maybe solve this puzzle.

I cannot glass the A pillers because they have integral airbags inside them.

I cannot attach additional drivers next to the stock speaker location on the door because of two lower electrical controls on the drivers side.

I do not believe I can use HLCD's under the dash. I do not think I have the leg room.

I want to avoid kick panels at all possible for two reasons: (1) The driver's side dead pedal is massive and leaves little room. (2) I have kick panels in my other VW Golf with a tweet and 5.25" and am sick and tired of the soundstage level at my waist and poor midbass response.

The only solution I can think of is cutting into my $850 each door panels to mount a tweet, use the existing stock A-piller triangle location for some Aura 2" mids, and the stock door location for a 6.5". Any other thoughts, brainstorms, or solutions is greatly appreciated!

umm ur kicks must have been really bad and not tweeked propperly at all and horns dont generally mess with your feet at all lol. kicks are alot better than door locations as far as being able to control where cancelations occur

You are probably right about the other kicks. They are the cheap Q-forms. I know that by mass loading those kicks I may achieve better mid-bass performance. However, I am very concerned about soundstage height as well. Those Q-forms have a set tweet angle that you cannot change.

Why not just make your own kicks or have somebody professionally make them for you? Also if you're going 3-way, you shouldn't have to worry about midbass from kicks if you put the midbass in the door. Then you can go with a midbass in the door and the midrange and tweeter in the kicks. If the kicks are done properly that would be a kickass SQ setup with great imaging and staging as well as great midbass. I'd suggest trying to fit mini horns in as well, can't go wrong there.

i have a 5.25" that does too much midbass lol and im not kidding they are in kicks its all design . i still need to rta my set up which would probbably be done sometime next week
