Hey there, so I'm at a stop in the road. I have a 2001 toyota tacoma regular cab. The stock locations ****. So I was thinking of kick panels. I would want to do CDT ES 02's and QES 680s for the mids. And ill probably power it with a zed draconia 4 channel. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

The QES-680s are subwoofers that will require a small enclosure to maximize low end extension. This means big, intrusive kick panels that you might not get right on the first try. Ported would be ideal, and you could probably vent them into the dash. Do you own the ES-02s and QES-680s already?

q-logic kick panels may be worth a look. Add some deadening and they're solid, integrate well, and for the most part are worth the money if you don't have time/patience/skill to fab your own.

i would use q-logic as a place to start. but no midbass will be had from plastic with no seals. plastic does not seal to carpet. you could, however, start with the plastic and end with additional deadener, fiberglass, filler, clay, etc. to have a rigid airspace.

speaker choice is crucial. the small airspace can wreck havoc with some woofers, causing spikes in response, or even resonance.

I think you guys are right about the q logic. I think I'm going to pick those up. If i do that i won't be able to use the 680s, but thats alright. (no i haunt bought the 680's but i did buy the ES-02's) What should I do for bass? Thanks for all the help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

What are you using for your crossovers on the front speakers? If you're planning to run active and you want to play the system loud I would try crossing the ES-02s at around 600 Hz at 12 dB/octave. This will put them at -27 dB at their low end of 150 Hz.

If you have 2.75" mounting depth with the Q-logic Q-forms I recommend the CDT HD-6MDVC subwoofers. They're not as beefy as QES-680 but I run mine on a lot more than the recommended 70W-150W of power. Your results will be different than mine as I have mine mounted in the doors with vibration damper, CCF and MLV to help the bass.
