well, my last sub sounded fine, and i didn't touch any wiring except the amp wiring so i assume all the wiring down by the head unit is correct.
That would be a fair assumption.

Either the amp levels are incredibly wacked out, which I dont think, because even the most rookie person usually has some idea of whats going on there. If you dont then open up the owners manual to help you set the amp.

If not then wiring

I thought the nine.1 was a mono sub amp. why would it have two sets of +'s and -'s
For easier wiring solutions. If you're running 2 subs for example, you can simply run wire from each sub to the amp, instead of having to combine the wire at some point. (I hope that made sense)

I mentioned setting the gains the correct way back on like page 4. *shrug* Until a DMM or o-scope is used, you are guessing as to your gains settings ("60%" means you guessed). You may have another problem besides that (like the sub wiring), but imo you should get your gains squared away so you know you aren't battling 2 problems at once.

Well, tommorow i am getting the gains tuned by my friend, but today i just wanna make sure my wiring is fine. Ill be back in a bit, gonna go snap some pics of the amp, box and sub

Cool. Good luck. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Turn your gain up half way if you dont have a DMM. Its not going to be an astonishing difference between that and say 3/4, or even half to the magic voltage as told by the gain tutorial. It will be noticably louder but its not going to be holy crap kind of difference.

There ya guys go, hopefully that will make helping me easier.

Why do you have 6 wires coming from the sub? Where is that thicker wire connected to?

The 2 thick ones are connected to the amp terminals. I then took the smaller gold ones and soldered those to the ends of the 2 thick ones, so now i have 4 total. One one coil there are 2 wires going into each terminal on the sub, and on the other end, i jumped the 2 gold ones to the other 2 terminals.

Look at this picture. I have those 4 wires in those 2 terminals, then i have the 2 gold wires going around to the other coil terminals.

Oh and you need bigger speaker/power/ground wire;)
The thicker wirer is the main the two other pair is actually just one you cant see the bottom of the loop in the picture.

the size of the speaker wires would not cause his problem, nor the 8gauge power wires (although I would suggest 4 gauge as well)

ls1pimp-

can you turn the box on its side so the subwoofer loads against the corner of the trunk pocket?, I really think that it will benefit the sound.

Woofer seems to be wired alright, kind of hard to tell though. Amp levels dont seem to out of line.

Gold wires are pretty long. Does the one with the white stripe go to the terminal kiddy corner to it?
