There is the option of "Ghetto porting" CJ did some calculations on what a one inch hole drilled into the side of a box would be tuned to(wood thickness being port length), it turned out it was suprisingly low. This is kindof a weird thing to do though, perhaps if you did it for awhile to help breakin and then sealed the hole back up afterwards.
Lol, that may be a possibility. I was also gonna go tommorow to walmart and pick up some polyfill, maybe that might do something?

Another thing i noticed. If i press the cone down in the middle, the voils make no noise. BUt if i press the cone down on an angle like by the edges, it makes a weird crunching noise.

I think I have realistically determined your problems here, you need to let the sub break in, and you need a bigger box, a friend of mine was in the same predicament, he had a mofo 12 and always wondered why I was louder then him when I had mine, I had mine in a large ported box, his was in a sh!tty prefab sealed one, he never wanted to believe his box was the problem, and to this day his potentially loud woofer sounds like sh!t, not saying your box is bad, I just don't think it's suitable for the sub, and the break in thing isn't BS, cuz my rl-p did get louder over time

Thats normal, when you put pressure on one side of the cone it offsets the VC and causes it to rub.

Well, unless my RL-P will get 10X louder over break in, that doesn't help me too much. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif I could pay a friend to build me a box, but then what do i do if the problem still remains? I wanna be 1000x sure what the problem is before i start buying things.

You can still fit a nice size box in there for a ***** am

if i have to get a new box, i will. I just wanna make sure that is the problem. I don't wanna get a new box and then have it still sound off and not loud. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I just installed my 12" RL-P today and had a similar experience. I am running it off of a nine.1 as well but @2 ohms putting out 900 watts( gains set with multi-meter). I was getting very little output just like you at first. I played with my Alpine 7995 settings and set the bass x-over to 80hz and it is alot better now. I was very worried at first but feel better now. It seems like I really have to crank the volume to get it moderately loud. Honestly I was expecting a little more volume with almost 1,000 watts. The SQ seems good in my 1.3c.f. sealed box built by Marv. Can anyone give me some recomendations on setting up the amp/ headunit x-over/subsonic settings? Will this sub get much louder over time? As it stands now it seems about as loud as my previous setup which was a 12" JLw3 in a prefab with 600 watts.

Also is the outside surface of the sub supposed to get warm to the touch? After playing for a while it seems like it almost got too warm?
Anyone?

We wouldn't be helping if we didn't honestly believe that that sub had the potential to kick ***.
belive me, this thing isn't getting returned or anything, i jsut wanna figure out what the hell i did to it wiring (or didn't do) thats making it sound way lower than it should. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif I do appreciate your help though guys.

The thing does wang though if i turn the gain way up. However every now and then it was bottoming out and making really bad noises so i lowered it.
