help i think i popped my battery

i have an XBOX in my car and it needs a power inverter to run. before i used to leave it on alot (when not running), sometimes for short periods of time, sometimes i'd drain the batt completely cuz i forgot aboot it.

today, i was saving some CD's on my XBOX and i was coming out every 5 min to switch CD's and recharge the battery by turning the car on. well the last time i turned it on and the low voltage alarm on the power inverter went on, but it still started.

the volt gage on the dash kept going down, but when i revved it it went back up. i turned it of thinking it was okay, but it wouldn't start. i tried jumping it and it wouldn't work.

i think my battery is dead permanently now. i don't think it's the alternator b/c it was charging when i revved it. i don't think it's the starter either.

anyone had a similar prob, or know what's going on?

your battery sounds gone. You should have just brought the xbox inside and done it there instead of in your car. what were you thinking?
