Help / Hurt?

Running a JL 300/2 (4 ohm) and an AQ 1200d (1 ohm) off of 1 strand of 4g split into 8g via a distro.

Obviously this is smaller than recommended. However, I have been slow to upgrade wires since the amps read 12.8-13.5 regularly.

The under-hood battery reads 14.1-14.7 regularly.

So, to my question:

I'm guessing that upping my wire to 0g or running another strand of 4g will up my amps' voltage.

Will any other affects occur? Mainly, will my battery/alternator have to work harder to meet the demands being requested by the amps via the bigger wire?

Thanks.

Agreed. So now, run 0g to a distro split into 4; or just leave my original 4 going to the JL, and add another 4 into the AQ.

Frankly, should turn out roughly the same in terms of resistance, yes? And adding another 4g would be alot easier on the wallet, and alot less time consuming.

Thanks.

*Or even add a 0g to the AQ and use the existing 4g to the JL?*

Sorry, this is just a bit unrelated and FYI, but if you wanna get a good deal - you can order 25' (you have to if you want the deal) of KLMX 1/0 awg from Knu now for $37.50 - which is $1.50/ft. I've heard that KLMX works just as good as the 100% ofc.
