Help!!! fuse to 12v battery keeps blowing!!

So I recently purchased and installed 2 sundown audio sa8 v2s with a sundown audio sae1000d. The problem I have now is that when I play the music really loud for more then 15 minutes the 60 amp fuse I have to the battery keeps blowing out!! I have a 2 farad cap as well. Everything is good until I play super loud for more then 15 min. My wire to the battery also melted a little bit. Help!!

try a larger fuse, before you do that tho, what size is your wire ? give us more detail on your system and how it is installed

I had similar problem moving up to 1000RMS, I moved up to 150 amp and haven't had a problem

You cant just step up to any fuse rating you want.

The max fuse rating has to be the max rating for the wire you have.

Putting a fuse to big for the wire will cause a fire/melting/arc. The amp its self will burn if it does not have good protection.

That amp can pull 120 amps of power... Get good quality OFC 4 gauge and fuse at 150 amps.

Thanks guys for all the tips. I'm running 8 gauge wire and had a 100 amp fuse and that blew out first. Then went to 60 cause that's all they sold at pep boys. I don't have pictures but the wire to the fuse box going to the battery melted in half. So you guys saying bigger wire and fuse?

Yes do 4 gauge (ofc if possible) and get anl fuse holder with a 150 amp anl fuse.

8 gauge CCA is rated 50 amps

8 gauge OFC is rated 60 amps.

Lucky you didn't burn your car to the ground.

You need OFC 4 gauge and fuse to 150.

**** I know right haha. Well I'm a noob to this so I honestly didn't know better. These 2 little 8s do push a lot of power and sound awesome! Thanks again guys and I will be doing an update as soon as I get the new wire and fuse
