I am looking for a new amp for my subs...the amp i am looking at has a 100A fuse recommended at the battery....I have a 4 channel installed and it has a 40A fuse rating....at my distro block I have a 40A and a 60A fuse...the 60A fuse is for my present amp for my subs and i wanna swap that with a new amp with a 100A fuse rating...what do i have to do to make it all work??...do I just pop in a new 100A fuse in my distro block in place of the 60A fuse and then put a 140A fuse under the hood....I have AGU fuses in the distro block and a MAXI fuse 100A under the hood now...i am pretty sure they dont make a 100A AGU fuse and a 140A MAXI fuse..i have 4 guage wiring and 4 guage can go up to 140A max...is it possible?? thanks

Both AGU and MAXI fuses are only rated to 80A. You can find 100A MAXI fuses online but the contacts are only rated to 80A still so that is really your limit for what you can do with those fuse types.

My suggestion is to try it out with an 80A fuse in both locations. It is quite possible that you won't blow either. If you have problems with the underhood fuse blowing, replace the fuseholder with an ANL type and insert a 125A fuse and you should be good to go.
