Heres what I have, for a HU I have the Kenwood X979, I have rockford speakers in the front 4/6's, and 6/9's rockfors in the back deck(1990 Caddilac deville btw) and in the trunk I have 2 10" L7's in a vented box. The 4 inside speakers are being run off a Phoenix Gold 505 4 channel, and the subs are wired to 1 ohm and are being run by a Hifonics 1500D mono amp, seems the subs sound like crap, just wondering if I went big enough on the subs to rumble through the trunk up to the rest of the car?? Are you positive the wiring inside the box & to the amp is correct? Also is it possible the port is tuned incorrectly? It's wired correct, checked it several times, It hits, but I had some L5's that were 12" about a year ago that made these sound cheap!

What kind of box would we be talking about?

dude...yu must be doing sumthing wrong 2 10l7 on a 1500 mono block should be enough....make sure your h/u settings are set up rite.....i got a 12l7 in a ported box wired to a 1000w mono block and it sound reall good..so urs should sound better and louder..

^ it's your box some ported boxs do sound like that some songs will sound grate and some will sound like shit thats what you get with port at lest i did ....good luck

Be sure that you face the subs towards the rear of the car, faceing them towards the seats seems to cause cancellation issues.

So go with a sealed or vented? Yes they are pointed toward the rear, can't figure this all out!
