im trying to replace the stock stereo in my ford explorer i got a deck and got it all hooked up and there was no sound what so ever so i checked all the wireing it was right, so i took the deck back got a different one and its dong the same thing.

if it is the premium sound you need to connect the remote lead from your headunit harness to the blue wire on your explorer harness. This will turn on the factory amp and then you will have sound.

i had to hook the remote and a black wire with white stripe for my factory ford amps to come on.

If it's not the factory amp you are lacking ground. I have seen a couple that the ground is shit. Run the round wire from the HU to metal, not to the harness and see if that helps. But only do this if you don't have the factory amp.
