truck with low voltage.

hey guys i have a quick question. why after playing my system for about 10 minutes or so with my lights on and at full tilt does it rest at about 13.8 volts instead of around 14.4 where it is normally. is this bad? i have a stock alt with an optima red top up front and a kinetic hc2400 in the back with the big 3 done.

thats normal because u have drained the batts some and the alt is trying to charge both batteries back to 14.4 so its fine. Also if u just started the truck and its cold it will be 14.4 once it warms up it will drop to 14 or around there

sounds about right. mine charges back up to like 14.2 but it takes a few mins to get back up there

X2 ur fine.. It might just rest there hot.. But if not its cuz you drained everything and it just needs to charge back up

also when i had my 98 dakota it would never charge above 13.8v and i metered a guy with a xterra and hes never went over like 13.8-13.9
