alright, i dont know much about ohms or sound quality setups, so i need help with my new sub. before this i had 2 15" crossfire dbs and some garbage visonik amp- my new setup is strictly to fill Hz and not attract attention. talk about a 180

anyway, caught this on ebay and i know its a good brand, but dont know what i need to power it. nakamichi sp1000. its a 10", dvc, 350rms 550peak. on the description of sub- im guessing this was taken from the box- it states 'nominal impedance 2 x 6ohm'

whats the correct watt x channels @ ohm i should look for in an amp? and does parallel wiring voice coils adversely effect sq and not just add power?

im also limited in my spending, just spent 8500 on my new car, and have a 19000 student loan over my head. sold my db 15s and visonik for 350, got the sub for 150 that leaves me 200 + or - to get the job done.

if i wire this sub like that pic, and its rated as a 6ohm, that will drop it to 3 correct? amps arent measured in odd numbers as ive seen, so i guess that that is the max load for the speaker- leaving me with a 4 ohm mono amp rated at 600 x 1 @ 4 ohm.

am i right or not?

It would be @ 3 ohms.... ohms is measured by the resistance in the sub

So two(2) six(6) ohm voice coils hooked up in parellel would give you 3 ohms (From a 2 channel amp bridged, or a mono amp (1channel))

Hope this helped,

Adam
