HELP dont think subs are loud enough

So i put in my amp and subs yesterday. (they are in my sig) but for some reason they dont wang that hard. Ya they get loud and everything but for some reason they get all distorted after about 70% volume. And yes i set the gains properly. Is there any way to easily figure out why this might happen? If not then i guess i'll just fiddle with it til its good.

Pioneer is bad ***. Pioneer Premiere is even more bad ***. So its not the sub. The amp is bad *** too.

are you running the subs at 1 ohm?

yes they are @ 1 ohm. double checked today. The subs are kick-***. The box was computer designed and custom built (like everyone elses vented box) and i followed the instructions on the 'setting amp gains' post. But for some reason they got mega-loud today. Maybe they needed to be broken in... hehe ya... nevermind
