My 8" Challenge is COMPLETE

In early November I started my quest for an 8" sub that I could use as the lone sub for IASCA sound quality judging. I wanted this sub to be able to play all of the sub bass notes on the disc. If you know the IASCA disc there are a few Organ pedal tones that are insane low. So as I reviewed the subs I compiled the results on NissanClub. The link below contains those results.

First of all this is under my conditions using only a limited selection of different wattage amounts, a same sized (- eD) sealed box facing the front of the vehicle, and only my ears. I am a three season veteran of IASCA with two top four placings at IASCA Finals. The ears that I have arent golden, however I am a musician. So, am I qualified, probably not, however I think I know a thing or two.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Now this is my opinon so I am not going to argue with any of you. If you disagree, that's fine. I am just sharing with the masses.

How much do the DD 1008s run for?

Nice comparison there; I enjoyed reading it. Is space an issue that keeps you from running ported? I bet you could squeeze out the lows much better and still retain the SQ you want with the DD sub.

so, you put all the woofers in the incorrect size enclosure, and compared them like that?
or, was it the correct size for one woofer, and then incorrect for the rest?
If I'm not mistaken it was the correct size to fit his application...a .65 sealed enclousure for a custom kick install and then what sub would work best in that size.....

daym, i would really love to know how the SD208 stacks up with the 1008...

they look very similar and the SD even has a slightly bigger motor...but that'll be interesting matchup...
