Fi Q 12 looks nice but its rated 1000 wrms or ssd for the amp

what are your gains set at? 700 watts shouldn't be too much for an IDQv3d2. did you give it the breakin time.

its not fried yet but i can smell the coil overheating and the gains its like just below 3/4

is this a brand new sub? are you sure your smelling the coil overheating? it's sometimes normal for a new sub to give off a smell when not broken in properly. i've seen this brought up many times in the ID forum

the IDQ's should be able to handle 700 from reviews I've read.

Yes its brand new i got 3 weeks ago, i touched the dust cap and feels warm

you need to give it time to "break in". plus make sure your having the gain sett that high plus turning the volume all the way up. also wat are your other settings and what type of box is it in.

hmm my buddy was sending 1000 to his no problem.

He has his gain set a 3/4th the way up. Unless his HUs voltage is 1 he is clipping it.

i have a pioneer DEH-P9800BT they have a high voltage preouts 5v
