So I have been in a somewhat constructive debate over whether or not the Jackhammer is a p.o.s. Here are a couple pieces of the convo:

I've heard two in action and was not impressed at all.

I really hope your trolling, the Jackhammers were in the demo car for MTX at SBN. I'd be surprised if they did over a 150. The Ascendant demo vehicle and Excecution demo vehicle stomped MTX's ride. So if the company that makes the Jackhammer can apply use them in a proper install I don't really know what to say.

Now I am not jocking the Jackhammer or anything, but misinformation kills me. I'm not a marketing expert but I'm willing to bet that those Pimp my Ride videos cost MTX a lot of JackHammer sales. Not necessarily because there's anything wrong with the woofer but because of the way in which it was presented and it's quite difficult to bury yourself out of a joke of that magnitude. If anything, this is the video that should have spread like wildfire:

I think that shit on Pimp My Ride gave MTX a bad name really. I like MTX, I have used several of their amps and subs over the past 12yrs. They have all been great to me.

just like every sub out there im sure it would get plenty loud in the right enclosure

pimp my ride made it into something to laugh at and nothing more.

for a lit of people 139 sounds like a huge number. obviously though are the people who shop at BB, CC, etc....

they dont know any better or what loud is.

personally i think it was a horrible idea for mtx to even design it let alone build it. there isnt much of a market for a 300 lb sub

Nice vid... looks in front of the B pillar to me tho.

In all honesty the jackhammer did not impress me either. I heard the escalade with 2 of them and (i think) 4 9500's. I thought it would be louder.

Well part of that I believe is because the fu cking thing weighs 300lbs. And you can get a lot louder with a lot less weight. But for some individuals to say it cant get loud, is ludicrous, it is all dependent upon the install. But these things are definitely not practical in my opinion anyways.
