Help choosing two 10's for an eD Nine.1

I want to run the Nine.1 down to 1 ohm, so I need either Dual 4's or Dual 1's here.

My box is 2.6 cubes of airspace, tuned to 36 hz, 4" wide slot port, 43 sq. inches of port area (21.5 sq. in. of port area for each sub).

Right now I'm running some old W0's on a P2002 and it actually sounds hald decent for 200 watts in the trunk of a small car.

I just got the Nine.1 and I want to use all 1200 watts at 1 ohm.

I have 0/1 ran to a distro block in the back, and plan on using the old P2002 on my comps up front (haven't picked these out yet (6.5's)).

I'm looking at 30/70 SQ/SPL for this setup. Not loud and sloppy. But definitely loud and still tight.

I listen to rock, alternative, jazz, and rap at night driving around.

My price range for the two 10's is anywhere in the $400-$500 range. The problem I'm running into here is that I don't want to get some RE SX's that have 1000w rms each and only be giving them a little more than half ot that. Also, I'm going to be keeping my stock alt. for a while so don't really think I can go much bigger than the Nine.1 and the P2002 on it because that's already too much on my 90 amp alt. which means the Nine.1 most likely won't even be putting out 1200w @ 1 ohm but it's all good.

Cliffs: I need two new tens for a 2.6 cubes slot ported box. Running them @ 1 ohm off an eD Nine.1 (1200x1) 400-500 bucks. 70/30 SPL/SQ.

Keeping in mind I'm thinking 70/30 SPL/SQ would it be worth it to buy a new custom made ported box for 2 12's instead of the box I have now? I'm just not sure it would be worth it to spend another 150 on a new box, and then having a useless box that I just bought a few months ago, but if this is what would be best for the long term then I should go ahead and get the new box and go for 12's if it would help me THAT much... If I won't notice that much a difference then I'll stay with the 10's.

2 10's = 50*pi of Surface area

2 12's = 72*pi of Surface area

The reason I'm inquiring about this is because so many people on the boards run 12's or 15's or 18's and almost no one runs 10's. I don't really understand it that much. I have plenty of room in my trunk for a bigger box.

^^ what you said, but if you want a 600 watts to each sub on a 600rms sub- si bm's got my vote, d4's also but are a little costly.

If you do go with the SSDs, ask for Dual Soft spiders. They'll like that 600 RMS better with that option.

RSD's looks like they only come in Single 4 ohm, which is no good for me.

I asked Fi about the Dual Soft spiders in the e-mail so we'll see about that.

I really am liking the reviews on the AA Arsenals but no place to find em. I think the SSD's will do just fine.

Treo SSi and Audioque SD2.5 come to mind, the treo would be underpowered but still would be quite loud.

After researching all of the aforementioned woofers, I'm really starting to lean towards getting a new box from Vitveet at SD for two 12's ported. I just think in the long run after getting new 10's I'm going to want 12's anyways. The main reason for this is because almost every thread on all the boards I'm on are about 12's, and I think this is telling of how much better the 12" sounds than the 10". The only problem with this is that I still only have 1200w to work with for the subs and I'm hoping that should be enough to make me happy with my music with 12's.

Someone let me know if I should really just stick with the box I already have and get some new 10's and enjoy them instead of wasting 2 bills on a new box for 12's. Thanks.
