well for 18's u have 4x 7cubes each = 28cubes plus port and subs prolly close to 34 cubes and thats not taking into consideration the clamshell looks like u might be better with 3 18's or a flat wall with 4 18's

I was most likely going to go that route ,with (2) 18 inch fully loaded BTL's. My other option was to do (3) 18 inch BL's in a subs up/port back . Both setups would be powered by (2) Strapped AQ 2200d's
Won't 3 fully loaded BTL 18's laugh and yawn at a pair of strapped aq2200d's?

I like the BL's

they look like a good enough compromise between a Q and a BTL.

BTL's have their place; in someone else's loud as balls vehicle.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

lol ^ I hear ya .. Im trying to decided on these two setups as we speak . Not sure which will be more of an improvement . The BL setup : All three subs will receive roughly 1500rms each with the strapped AQ's running at 1.5 ohms(Got plenty of electrical to back it up so the 1.5ohm load wont be an issue). With the BTL setup Id have only two of them with 2100-2200 to each sub (not much for the BTL's IMO). Although they would be in a pretty efficient 4th order . Just doing some box designing to see what I can come up with .

I hear ya on the (3) sub setup . I tryed working out a flat wall box design that could house the (4) 18's and still have the correct size port but It just wont work out . I just dont have enough room to do so . Kinda sucks

Allright, so it looks like this will be the box dimensions and specs:

43w x 24.5h x 49.5 .. 25.7 cu/ft gross -- 23.0 cu/ft net after sub/ port/ bracing . This will give me approx. 7.6 cu/ft for each sub . Tuned to 31-32hz . I will be using (3) 10 inch sono tubes which gives me 235.6 cu/in of port area. Subs up/ port back . Looks this is really the only design that seemed to work well besides a 4th order .
