Ok so i got a car finally. And I like music. And speakers. And audio.
Here's what I have at this point:
Alpine S-Series 6x9s (I dont remember model number, they're already installed as rears..i believe 2 ways....i think SPS something)
Rockford Fosgate Fanatic P Component 5.25 and 3/4" tweeter
Kenwood KDC152 HU

I havent installed anything besides the alpines. Got the RF comp for cheap so idk how decent they are.
I know most people say to ditch the rears but i kinda like rear fill. i'd just drive em off the HU anyway and can turn em off.
I plan to get either a 4 chan amp (2 for the fronts, bridge 2 for sub), or just a 2 (or 1 chan??) for the sub and power the others off HU.
I only want 1 sub. While I do like my hip-hop, my heart lies with rock and I prefer SQ over SPL. I prefer tight accurate bass over flompy pillowy loose bass. HOWEVER. If I throw some 50 cent on I want it to bump.
My questions are:
Can I get away with powering the 6x9s and components off just the HU? I dont wanna shatter eardrums.
What is a good entry level sub and amp? I'm probably going to get em off craigslist so i'd want comfirmation that some of the more "mainstream" subs are good. Kickers? RF Punch? Alpine Type R? Stuff like that I can buy off craigslist.
Do I need to amp my fronts? Keep in mind i'm not a basshead...I love bass but I'd rather have everything balanced and sound quality over quantity.
Recommendations?? My budget is limited....hence the preference for craigslist...
