help build me a system!

i just bought an 07 wrx sti. the stock system is awful! i already picked the head unit out (nak cd-500) and need help choosing components and an amp. ill worry about a sub later. basically i want good clean, crisp, high quality sound, not dull flat bass like most guys like. i have 6.5"s in the front and 4"s in the rear doors. i have heard that bigger speakers will fit in the rear, but dont know for sure. what do you suggest for components ($300 a pair or less) and an amp ($300 or less)? thanks!

Listen to some and choose the ones you like. I have mbq, their loud. I really like softer speakers now, I liked the alpines I listened to at a shop. I would say some alpine comps up front, forget about rear speakers, and an alpine amp to match, around 75 watts per channel at least. Then start looking for subs. Im steering my buddie to a whole alpine system. They never let me down in 20 yrs.

yeah our scoobies system's ****. Mine is the stock upgraded and it still sucks! I have a 2005 2.5RS Impreza. Have yet to upgrade the speakers yet, but thats coming soon. I have done the headunit however and that significantly helped yet it still not there!

Spend all your budget on the front the rears are useless. IIRC you have a depth limitation in the front which might make some speaks a bit tough to fit. $600 for the stage should give you a lot of options.

this is by far the worst stock setup in a modern car! what garbage! i was looking forward to the 6 discs in dash, but with the terrible sound i wont miss a thing. it makes me miss the stock jbl that was in my 06 tundra.

If you're going with fronts and rears, only 4'' will fit for the rear fill according to crutchfield, in the stock mounting position that is. I'm sure you can custom-fab something to fit a larger size speaker, but 4'' is the only size you'll be able to fit in the stock location.

If you go to crutchfield.com find where it says Car Audio and Video on the top nav bar, and the first button on the dropdown menu says outfit my car. You can enter your make/model of your car and it will give you many options for speakers and really anything else that you need for your car; and you can be sure that they will fit your car.

I have MB Quart 6.5's(components)"reference" series up front run by around 100watts per side, and they are clear, loud, and fill out the car very well.

I found them on ebay for $160....new leftovers....you just have to shop around.

There are sooo many choices, its hard to decide because everybody will have their fav's, but you really should listen to some and make a decision.

MB Quart is what I'd get.....but its because I've had them the last 4 or so times.
