Help an old timer pick a new sub

Well I've been out of car audio for about 5 years now as funds needed to be placed elsewhere.

In a week or so I will be picking up a 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe and would like to put a single 12 in.

Car: Infiniti G37

Headunit: Stock Bose

Speakers: Stock Bose

Will use a JL Audio CleanSweep to integrate everything

I'm out of the loop, so I'm not sure what is the new big thing. I'm gearing towards the following:

-1k RMS

-Does not require a massive ported box (trunk space is limited)

-70% SPL/30% SQ

My original thoughts were a Memphis Mojo, AudioQue HDC3, or Fi Q.

Is there anything new worth pursuing? Box size also scares me a bit with the above speakers.

Do you have any brands in mind? There are tons of good subs out there, Boston Acoustics just quit the car audio game but you can still find their amps/subs new on eBay. They're really awesome for the price.

By the way their RMS rating for the subs are conserative, I had a 10 inch G5 and my buddy pounded the @&*! out of it and it is still alive... it was moving about 3" peak to peak.
