Ill keep it short so i dont get any "too long" BS:

I have had everything from (2) 18's in 9.2 cubes on 1.5k watts and a fully active front stage to (2) 8's in 1 cube sealed in the cabin of my GTO.

I just purchased a 2011 wrx. I love the stock headunit and its steering wheel functionality as well as the USB and ipod hookups in my glove box, but the speakers ****. They don't get loud or low and sound like ****.

If i wanted a little bit of sound, but no heavy setup in the trunk. What would be my options?

I was thinking maybe a (forgive me i forget their real name) post processing type unit so i can keep the stock headunit. A set of 6.5's for the front doors with 1" tweets and then maybe something in the rear doors or rear deck and leave the trunk alone?

JL, Rockford Fosgate, JBL, and Audison (possibly one or two more that I'm not thinking of) all have factory HU integration solutions if you need to amp things and keep stock HU. Money spent in sound deadening the doors is the best investment you'll make in your component budget, and Q-logic kickpanels are pretty decent for the money (with a little deadening) and you don't even have to pop door panels. You may as well run power wire and RCA for a sub amp since you probably won't be happy without something to do

Really these days many people are very happy with just adding a small sub to their factory system and some of them actually sound pretty good at modest listening levels.

JBL MS8 for OEM integration, 2 way active front stage, and maybe a low powered 8" setup like the Dayton HF8".

Thats all im looking for at this point. These stock speakers are rattling the plastic door panels and distorting at low volume. How does the kick panel work on the drivers side with the dead pedal? (its a standard)
