basically im at either...

250 amp @ 1000 rpm and 100 @ 700 rpm

or about 200 amp @ 800 rpm

i idle at about 600 rpm. the 200 will be rewound from my old alt. the 250a will be a brand new alt. but its from a guy from ebay. he has a lot of good feedback though.

how much is the brand new one again? if you idle at 600, its probably to be real ****** output at idle with both amps.

is the second a DB Electrical alt? I'm running mine just fine and it seems to do rated (no drop when cruising and .6 drop when idle).

no its not from them its from powermax alt. which kind of like there competitor. which alt did you get from dbelectrical? how many amps? and how many watts you pushing?

I got a 250a alt for my Traiblazer and I'm currently just pushing the 1500 for my AP1500, so about 140a at full tilt. I get 115a @ idle and 250 @ 1.2k rpm and it seems to be doing great. I don't drop while cruising and will drop to 13.9 while idling.

how much is the brand new one again? if you idle at 600, its probably to be real ****** output at idle with both amps.

the brand new one is only 160. to get mine rewound it will be 175.

do you guys think 200a will be enough for 2700?

If you had to choose between the two, get the new one. But really I have ran 3k on a stock honda 4 cylinder alt and two deka 9a31s and it was fine even at idle. Just didn't full tilt for a long time.
